Jessie McClusky is the County Director for the Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Moultrie and Shelby Counties. She has a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of South Dakota and a bachelor’s degree in recreation and park administration from Illinois State University. McClusky comes to Extension after working the last 10 years at a local community college where her focus was on non-credit short-term classes for career training and professional development. She started her career at a park district overseeing the cultural arts, day camps, and various events and transitioned to professional development when she joined the community college. Jessie enjoys helping individuals and organizations see what could be possible and working through the process to achieve success.

Throughout her career she has served on several state-wide Boards including Leadership Illinois (VP of Communication) and the Illinois Council for Continuing Education and Training (President), In 2019 she was the recipient of the Forty Under 40 award for her achievements in leadership and community involvement.

Jessie enthusiastically pursues formal and informal learning opportunities to improve her knowledge, understanding, and awareness. She listens to history podcasts during her downtime, collects teacups and tea pots, and likes doing home improvement projects. McClusky lives in Monticello, IL with her nine-year-old daughter Kendall and big yellow cat Rusty.
